TKΦ Bros Win in their Own Fields

Tau Kappa Phi

Tau Kappans once again have proven that they are above the ordinary and persons of excellence when they successfully clinched the top place in their own fields of endeavour. Such a feat has been shown by brothers Gerard Nelson Manalo, Efren Marfil, John Resado, Alonto Bangkulit, Jr. and John Ric Quinsaat.

Bro. Gerard Nelson Manalo | Best Speaker

In a live telecast of ANC Channel’s “Squre Off: The Firm Debates” on August 15, 2014, Bro. Gerard Nelson Manalo was chosen by the panel of judges as “The Best Speaker.” He was a member of a team of debaters from Far Eastern University Institute of Law which include Portian Sis Andrea Adelle Gabot and Clara Maria Beatriz Calayan who was declared as People’s Choice for Best Speaker.

The issue sought to be resolved was whether or not “the 1987 Constitution should be amended to allow a President to be elected for a second term.” The FEU Law team argued and defended in the negative against the debating team of St. Louis University, Baguio City. Such issue is an offshoot of a rumored clamor of the public to allow President Simeon Benigno Aquino to run for a second term. The 1987 Constitution allows a President to run for only one term of six years.

Brod Gerard is presently connected with a law firm and an office at the House of Representatives. He hails from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. He is the batch leader of “El Quatro Causa,” a name they have chosen when initiated into the fraternity.
