The Tau Kappa Phi Fraternity held its 66th Founding Anniversary, Induction Ceremonies and Grand Ball on March 22, 2014 at the Imperial Palace Hotel located in Timog, Quezon City.
The event was graced by TKΦ brother, Congressman Elpidio F. Barzaga, Jr. as the Guest and Keynote Speaker. Brod Cong. Pidi as he is fondly called is the Representative of the 2nd District of Cavite and on his third consecutive term. He was one of the public prosecutors in the impeachment trial of then Chief Justice Renato Corona who was eventually impeached and convicted. He served as Mayor of Dasmariñas, Cavite for three (3) terms prior to his first stint in the House of Representatives in 2007.
He is both a Certified Public Accountant and Lawyer. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in Bachelor of Laws at the Institute of Law, Far Eastern University, Manila. His other profiles, achievements and programs can be read at his personal website.
The occasion was successfully held through the leadership of outgoing Grand Chancellor (GC) Walter Macaiba. A new set of officers headed by incoming GC Juan Karlo Talingdan II was also inducted into office and will serve for the School Year 2014-2015. Neophyte members went through the traditional rituals to become full-fledged Tau Kappans which was concluded with a choral singing of the Tau Kappa Phi Hymn.
Other highlights included the awarding of trophies and awards to the winners of the basketball tournament, awarding of plaques to outstanding alumni and a dance ball.
