Four teams opened the first leg of basketball for the 2016 The Commoner’s Cup under the leadership of Grand Chancellor Paolo Brillantes on February 21 at the Far Eastern University R. Papa gym in Morayta. They are Barely Legal, Canobas Magic, Bulls Heat and Residents, the same teams which faced off against each other last year.
The Barely Legals were unstoppable in aiming for a back-to-back championship when they were able to stop short the Canobas Magics’ tricks and sleights of hands.

For the other game, the Bulls Heats proved that they were too hot to handle by the Residents who trailed behind in smokes.
